Our objective is to partner with mentoring sponsor salons, spas, shops, and beauty industry apprentice candidates to provide oversight, reporting, and fundamental training to enhance the on-the-job training provided by the sponsor. We aim to facilitate motivated individuals in realizing sustainable careers within the beauty industry.

Through our program, we offer education, resources, and a supportive community for apprentices to thrive in. We make it our goal to make apprenticeship easy and enjoyable for both the salon, spa, shop, and the apprentice.

The Atarashii Apprentice Program empowers the beauty industry through life long education and philanthropy.  We believe it is our responsibility to evolve hair and beauty education, challenging the status quo, through continual commitment to creating rich, best in class, educational experiences using the latest technology and innovations.


OUR HISTORY



The Atarashii Apprentice Program was born out of a grassroots effort in the backroom of a salon & spa just north of Seattle, WA. Our goal was to create a pathway for self-directed, motivated adult learners. The three founding co-owners of the Salon & Spa realized they were continually hiring and investing a minimum of a year or more in training new hires, only to find the effort futile. They knew there had to be a better way. Apprenticeship provided the opportunity to hire for personality, team culture fit, and drive.

Our program offers veterans a unique opportunity to leverage their skills and experience through the Valor Act, providing a range of VA benefits tailored to support their career goals. We recognize the valuable contributions veterans bring to the workforce. Through the Valor Act, eligible veterans can access financial assistance, educational assistance, career counseling, and job placement services, ensuring a smooth transition into civilian employment.

Our comprehensive training programs cover a variety of fields, including Cosmetology, Barbering, Esthetics & Nail Technician.  Veterans receive personalized support from our team, guiding them from application to graduation and beyond.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE



Looking for financial assistance for your apprenticeship program? Financial assistance is available to help active apprentices and Employer Training Parnters with various costs like tuition, fees, supplies, food, housing, and transportation to and from your supplemental instruction classroom.

Depending on your circumstances, there are several types of financial assistance you might be eligible for. As part of your onboarding process you will be scheduled with our Financial Assistance navigator to see what programs might work for you.
