Matt Smith

Background

Based in Lynnwood, Washington, just north of Seattle, Matt brings a lifelong connection to the beauty industry shaped by generations of family members in the trades. Having spent much of his childhood in and around salons, he grew up immersed in beauty culture, developing an early understanding of the people, pace, and passion that define the industry.

With more than 25 years of experience in the service industry, much of it in leadership and management roles, Matt is known for an inquisitive, solutions driven approach. Guided by a natural tendency to ask why, he focuses on identifying opportunities for improvement, streamlining communication, and supporting executive leadership through thoughtful problem solving and operational insight.

Serving as a key point of connection across teams, Matt guides Training Partners and Apprentices through the onboarding process and plays a central role in maintaining clear, consistent communication throughout the organization. His ability to balance innovation, structure, and support helps ensure teams are aligned, informed, and set up for long term success.
